The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse will be holding open auditions for the psychological thriller The Girl on the Train on Monday and Tuesday August 28 and 29, 2023 at 6:30 PM at the playhouse 1800 S. Main St. Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
The BACP welcomes Director Tommy Cummings. Tommy has been involved with theatre for 20 years directing, acting, technical design in sound and lighting as well as voice overs and television work. He was Director of the Year for Muskogee Little Theatre in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Tommy most recently directed White Christmas The Musical for MLT, Hay Fever for Theatre West and Clue for MLT. There are 7 characters (3 Female and 4 Male) in this play – they provide fantastic opportunities for dramatic acting. Every role is key and appears in many scenes. All roles are open to all ethnicities and nationalities. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors should provide a brief resume of experience; pictures would be helpful (but not required.)
The Girl on the Train is based on the best-selling novel by Paula Hawkins Adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel. In the story, Rachel Watson longs for a different life. Her only escape is the perfect couple she watches through the train window every day, happy and in love. Or so it appears. When Rachel learns that the woman she’s been secretly watching has suddenly disappeared, she finds herself as a witness and even a suspect in a thrilling mystery in which she will face bigger revelations than she could ever have anticipated.
